DeMarcus Cousins trade rumours

“Everything that happens on a team does not become known to the public,” Westphal continued. “This is how it should be. However, when a player continually, aggressively, lets it be known that he is unwilling/unable to embrace traveling in the same direction as his team, it cannot be ignored indefinitely.
“DeMarcus Cousins has demanded to be traded. In the best interest of our team as we go forward, he has been directed by me, with the support of management, to stay home from the New Orleans game tonight.”

In four games with Cousins, the Kings were 1-3. Cousins averaged 13 points and 11.3 rebounds but is shooting just 32.1% from the field (13-for-44).
But John Greig, Cousins' agent, denies that his client asked for a trade, according to SI.com.
"DeMarcus never demanded a trade. I'm surprised the Kings, if they believe the player wanted a trade, wouldn't have made a phone call to his representative? Maybe Westphal is just feeling the heat early this season."

Cousins opens up the discussion as to whether the Celtics would be interested in the young Center. While he does have the character concerns, he would be an extremely good fit in Boston with Rondo here. According to RealGM the only player that would match salaries with Cousins on the Celtics would be Jermaine O’Neal, so the Celtics would have to either get creative with a combination of picks and other players, involve a third team, or the Kings would have to be willing to take Jermaine and picks for the young Center. This all depends on how desperate the Kings are to get Cousins out of Sacramento, and by the sounds of it, they are very desperate. Also dependent on the trade is how many teams are willing to take on Cousins and his baggage.
There are no confirmed rumors as to the Celtics interest in Cousins, but given the lack of presence in the paint the Celtics have displayed over the first few games, one can assume that the Celtics will at least pick up the phone to gauge the interest of Sacramento and to determine what it would take to get Cousins in green.
