John Cena Defeats The Rock at Wrestlemania

A fan from Milford, Conn. said he expects a longtime WWE star to have a great performance.

“It’s all about The Rock. Bring prestige back to the title and show everyone how it’s done,” the man said.

“This is the Super Bowl of professional wrestling, this is it. It doesn’t get any bigger than this, this is it. This is off my bucket list, WrestleMania,” a man from the Bronx told Schuck.

For that reason, it was only logical to put the WWE Championship on a player who will take part in weekly feud development.

Cena may not be the most popular wrestler amongst marks, but that doesn't mean he's not going to show up every Monday night. Instead, Cena will take part in whichever feud the WWE deems necessary.

The Rock may be an equal or greater draw, but he's also a temporary wrestler.

This is not to say that The Rock cannot contribute, as he could step into a match at a pay-per-view or super show. To expect him to make weekly appearances, however, would be nothing short of naive.

For that reason, putting Cena over The Rock was the only logical decision.

The Rock may have helped G.I. Joe: Retaliation rise to the top of the box office last weekend, but he was at the losing end of the Wrestlemania 29 main event yesterday.

John Cena avenged his loss against this icon from a year ago by defeating The Rock and capturing the WWE Championship for the 11th time.
