Ex-NBA Player Stabbed

BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) — Serbian police say Predrag Danilovic, who played for the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks, is seriously injured after being stabbed in a fight.

Police say Danilovic was hurt during a brawl early Saturday in a cafe in a residential part of the capital, Belgrade. Doctors say Danilovic underwent an operation to treat injuries to his abdomen, head and arms.

The reason for the brawl was not immediately known.

Danilovic currently plays for leading Serbian basketball club Partizan Belgrade.

He underwent emergency surgery shortly after being rushed to a local hospital. His condition was listed in some reports as serious, while other reports did not have an indication of his condition.

Danilovic played just two seasons in the NBA with Dallas and Miami. He is now an executive of a Serbian basketball team.

Police say Pedrag Danilovic, known as Sasha during his time in the NBA, is seriously injured after getting stabbed during a fight in Belgrade, Serbia, according to The Associated Press. Danilovic has injuries to his abdomen, head and arms. He underwent an operation early Saturday. The guard/forward played two seasons in the NBA with the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks. He averaged 12.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists for his career. He was drafted No. 43 overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 1992 NBA draft before being traded to the Heat. He now serves as general manager for Patrizan Belgrade, a Serbian basketball club.
